JK Administration forms panels for DDC polls

New Delhi, October 20 Within days of Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) notifying amendment to the Panchayati Raj Act, the Jamp;K Administration has issued order to form apex and divisional-level committees to work out plans for holding elections to constitute District Development Councils (DDCs). Srinagar, October 20 Jamp;K on Tuesday recorded 589 fresh Covid cases, while nine deaths took place in the last 24 hours, taking the number of cases to 88,958 and death toll due to the disease to 1,397 in the UT, officials said.
